Kabayan, if you have been running a busy line and feel ready for the next step, this Sous Chef role in Northland, New Zealand is worth a look. A popular waterfront restaurant, loved for its fresh flavours, quality local ingredients and laid-back dining, is adding a Sous Chef to its kitchen crew.
You would be the Executive Chef's right hand, helping lead the team, keeping standards up and making sure the busiest days still feel under control.
The work is permanent or fixed-term, with a minimum of 30 hours a week. Applicants who already have New Zealand work eligibility are preferred, while sponsorship may be considered for those who do not.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef's place whenever they are away
- Start each day by making sure every chef knows what is required
- Keep stock at the right level and the right standard
- Keep timetables, leave rosters and attendance records current
- Make sure hygiene rules are followed, and report and follow up on any maintenance problem
- Keep the dining team and the kitchen talking smoothly, and give each dish a final check for quality, portion, presentation and temperature
- Train the team regularly on the job, treating everyone with fairness and respect
Requirements & Eligibility
- Solid experience in a busy kitchen that values quality, and ready to step up or already a Sous Chef
- Strong leadership and a talent for motivating your team
- Genuine love of great food and consistent results
- Excellent organisation and communication, with a calm head when things get busy
- A positive attitude, a good work ethic and a sense of humour
