Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Head Chef on seasonal menus that celebrate local produce and fit the budget forecast
- Handle stock ordering for the kitchen
- Organise kitchen staffing day to day
- Keep food safety standards in place on every shift
- Take charge of the kitchen when the Head Chef is absent
- Guide the team on food prep and plating so dishes meet venue standards
- Run high-volume services smoothly, keeping labour, product and operating costs on budget with management
- Monitor quality and consistency, make adjustments, and help train and develop fellow cooks
Requirements & Eligibility
- Sous Chef experience in a similar restaurant or pub setting
- Background in a high-volume restaurant or pub
- Able to support the Head Chef in managing and monitoring food and labour cost budgets
- Effective leadership skills
- Can train and mentor staff
- Keeps food standards high and consistent while following HACCP procedures
