If you enjoy looking after people and take pride in a spotless vehicle, kabayan, this Queenstown opening may suit you. A vehicle rental branch in New Zealand is hiring a Customer Service / Groomer. The grooming part is all about the hire fleet, cleaning and readying vehicles for the road, and never about animals.
You will take calls, answer queries, offer advice and prepare quotes and contracts for business, commercial and recreational travellers. The team is small and hardworking, so be ready to lend a hand wherever the branch needs you.
It is a permanent, full-time role with a 40 hours per week roster. The branch doors are open 8.00am to 5.00pm on weekdays and up to 1.00pm every Saturday. On visa sponsorship, the employer would ideally recruit suitable and available NZ workers, but because it is an Accredited Employer with Immigration NZ, candidates who require a work visa can be considered if such an appointment cannot be made.

Key Responsibilities
- Be the voice on the phones, offering sales advice and quotes
- Create the contracts and see each transaction through to completion
- Coordinate where vehicles need to go, then deliver them or pick them up
- Keep the office administration moving and maintain customer accounts
- Groom the branch's vehicles and its rental fleet to the highest standards
- See to it that all necessary compliance checks happen
- Lend a hand in identifying and escalating repair and maintenance issues, and manage damages and maintenance as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Full Class 1 Driver Licence, or its equivalent from overseas
- Computer skills ranging from basic to intermediate
- Customer-facing service experience in a previous role (ideally, though it is not essential, in the vehicle rental industry)
- Previous grooming experience, preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a confident manner on the phone
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent skills in managing your time
