If you love being around little ones, here is an opening worth a close look, kabayan. Two childcare centres in Cairns are growing their teams with 12 full-time Childcare Workers who will look after children aged 0 to 6.
Applicants should be working towards a Certificate III or already hold one, or hold a Diploma in Early Childhood. Many carers who have looked after children at home or while working overseas will recognise the heart of this work: making each child feel welcome, supporting a quality curriculum and staying close to families.
The company has Government approval to sponsor qualified overseas workers, and the occupation is on the approved list. This depends on the visa type and conditions, a successful ACECQA skills assessment, English test scores and completing a trial period.

Key Responsibilities
- Make every child feel safe and welcome in a fun, warm room
- Help carry out a quality educational curriculum and keep records that follow the EYLF, NQF and NQS
- Chat with parents and families often, building trust and a strong partnership between home and centre
- Grow warm, respectful relationships with children and their families
- Work hand in hand with the other early childhood educators
Requirements & Eligibility
- Currently studying for a Certificate III, already holding it, or holding a Diploma in Early Childhood
- A big heart and passion for caring for children aged 0-6 years, together with being hardworking and enthusiastic, with an open mind and fresh, innovative ideas
- Excellent English communication in writing and in person
- Confident computer skills for electronic programming and portfolios
- A current Queensland Blue Card in hand
- Familiar with the regulatory requirements of the National Regulations and National Quality Standards
- First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis and Asthma training, if successful
