Kabayan, if you have spent years at the controls of excavators, loaders or haul trucks and now hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, this is a chance to teach the next generation. A civil and mining training provider in the Perth area is hiring trainers and assessors who love sharing their skills.
Every learner is coached one-on-one on a live operating mine about 60 minutes north of Perth CBD, so you go home each night instead of working FIFO. You can choose from 1 Civil Trainer & Assessor role, weekdays on 8-12 hour shifts with alternating Saturdays available, or 1 Dozer / Excavator Trainer role on production mining D11 and 3600 machines, also weekdays on 8-12 hour shifts and shared between 2 mine sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver quality, nationally recognised training
- Conduct competency-based assessments fairly, passing only operators who are truly competent
- Provide practical machine operator training one-on-one at a live mine site
- Mentor students and help them get ready for jobs in civil and mining
- Respect site operating procedures and industry best practice
- Stay compliant with the WHS Act 2020
- Stay compliant with Mines Safety and Inspection legislation and RTO standards
- Complete all training and assessment documents with care and accuracy
- Be a team player within a supportive group of trainers
- Help create a learning space that is safe, professional and positive
- As mining trainer, lend a hand with civil training when Dozer & Excavator programmes are not running
- Help each student become a safe, confident operator
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holds a current TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110
- Has relevant experience operating civil and mining equipment, and supervisory experience is desirable
- Keeps calm and works well under pressure
- Able to make decisions
- Happy to work alone or as part of a team
- Strong time management, which is crucial when customers have paid for training
- Has a real passion for helping people
- Takes pride in high safety and training standards
- Reliable, professional and always punctual
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and daily breathalyser requirements
- Civil Trainer: current competency and experience on multiple items of civil plant is highly regarded, such as Telehandler (RIIHAN309F), Rigid Haul Truck (RIIMPO338E), Articulated Haul Truck (RIIMPO337E), Integrated Tool Carrier (RIIHAN311F), Bulk Water Truck (RIIMPO206D), Roller (RIIMPO317F), Civil Construction Excavator (RIIMPO320F), Skid Steer Loader (RIIMPO318F) and Front End Loader (RIIMPO321F)
- Mining Trainer: RIIMPO323E – Dozer and RIIMPO324F – Grader; RII qualifications are desirable, not required, and the civil plant units listed above are an added advantage
