Cafe Duty Manager

Good hospitality runs on dependable people who care about customers and take ownership of their work. A professional cafe team in New Zealand is looking for someone to become a trusted member of the crew. If you have worked in cafes or hotels back home in the Philippines or overseas, you will know the all-round work involved.
You will move between serving customers, making coffee, food service, cleaning, stock support and the other daily jobs that keep a cafe running. Experience is not the only thing that counts: verified skills, professional conduct, reliability and being a positive team player matter too.
With the right attitude and practical ability, you can grow your hospitality experience in a structured workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, give professional service and help with questions about products and the menu
- Make quality coffee and other drinks
- Heat and serve food quickly and efficiently
- Take payments and process sales on the till
- Keep everything clean and hygienic, with service and work areas organised throughout the day
- Restock shelves, displays and cafe supplies, and prepare and pack coffee products as required
- Help with opening, closing and the general running of the cafe
- Back up your teammates when the cafe gets busy
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety rules
- Represent the business professionally in every customer interaction
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous cafe, hospitality or customer service experience is preferred
- Practical barista skills are a strong advantage
- Shown ability to give reliable, consistent customer service
- Clear communication and a professional manner
- Able to work well in a team, and confident enough to finish tasks on your own when required
- A positive attitude and openness to learning new responsibilities
- Strong work ethic, dependability and professional integrity
- Neat, good personal presentation
- Comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing setting
- Available to work both weekend days or at least one Sunday
- Must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment and visa requirements; candidates requiring employer-supported sponsorship may be considered
