Kabayan, if you have built your accounting experience inside an Australian practice, this Wollongong opening could be your next step up. A multidisciplinary financial services business, covering accounting, tax, lending and financial advice, is adding a full-time Accountant to its collaborative team.
The ideal fit has around 2 to 3 years of Australian public practice experience. You would work on files for SMEs, companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, with an experienced Senior Accountant there to support and review. As your confidence grows, so do your responsibilities and your direct work with clients.
Growth is built into the role through mentoring, support for your CPA or CA development, and a real path to Senior Accountant and Client Manager. Employer sponsorship may be considered too, subject to your experience, suitability for the role and visa eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Put together financial statements and income tax returns
- Work across companies, trusts, partnerships and individual clients, preparing BAS along the way
- Carry out accounting and taxation tasks for SME clients
- Prepare personal tax returns and assist with planning at year end
- Keep in touch with clients, and with the ATO when it is needed, while managing your own workflow and statutory deadlines
- Support the Senior Accountant's client portfolio using Xero and other cloud systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Around 2 to 3 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting
- Background preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Good working knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance, with BAS preparation
- Strong Xero skills
- Good written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle competing deadlines
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or equivalent; CPA or CA studies (or plans to start them) highly regarded
