If caring for others comes naturally to you, this full-time Support Worker role near Dunedin, New Zealand may suit you well. A community living trust is building up its Permanent Relief Team, offering 40 hours of work each week supporting people with learning disabilities in their homes.
Every shift looks a little different. You could be helping with shopping and cooking one day and joining a community outing the next, always encouraging independence and choice in a safe, warm, home-like setting. Rosters include days, afternoons, evenings, awake nights, split shifts and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
- Support daily life at home, from shopping and meal preparation to household chores
- Give personal care respectfully and safely
- Accompany people on outings and community activities while encouraging independence, choice and wellbeing
- Follow each support plan and keep careful, accurate records
Requirements & Eligibility
- Respect and a person-centred approach when supporting people with learning disabilities
- Good common sense, with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and good computer skills
- NZ experience as a Support Worker / Caregiver / Healthcare Assistant, or a Certificate in Health & Wellbeing at Level 2 or higher
- Availability for weekend work and different shift patterns
- A full New Zealand driver's licence, which is essential
- The right to work in New Zealand
