Senior CNC Machinist Setter

Visa sponsorship

Manufacturing · Dunedin, New Zealand · Full-Time · $38 - $45/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

Kabayan, if you have spent years setting up CNC machines, here is a role that puts that experience to work. A precision manufacturer in Dunedin, New Zealand, is hiring Senior CNC Machinist Setters to join its team of about 30. The company makes small batches of many different components for industries such as aerospace and medical.

You would work on mill-turn, Swiss-type and multi-axis machines, cutting parts with complex shapes and strict tolerances. Getting it right every time matters here, so the employer is looking for someone careful, self-motivated and comfortable working alone while sticking to proper processes. The positions are permanent and full-time, with day and night shifts.

The company holds Accredited Employer status for New Zealand's AEWV, and it says immigration support through sponsorship is a possibility for exceptional applicants who closely fit the skills, experience and attributes it wants.

Prepare an English CV that tells the story of your machining career, whether in the Philippines or overseas: the machines you set, the industries you supplied and the tolerances you worked to. Let Build AI CV help you write a machinist CV that shows all of it clearly.

  • Handle the setup and running of complex CNC machining jobs with safety, efficiency and accuracy

  • Bring programming or process issues to the right people, understanding how offsets, tooling and parameters affect quality and productivity
  • Look after several machines at a time and balance competing priorities
  • Deburr and finish each part so it leaves your workstation ready for the customer
  • Share your know-how by coaching and guiding less experienced teammates
  • Team up with programmers, quality staff and production leaders on delivery commitments and on raising machining standards
