Kabayan, if your hands know both the welding bay and the brake drum, this Perth opening may be worth a look. A busy and well-established trailer workshop in Perth, Western Australia, is hiring a full-time Heavy Vehicle Body Builder / Trailer Mechanic.
Your days would be split between fabrication, structural repairs and bodywork on a wide range of trailer makes and models, and the mechanical side: inspecting, servicing, diagnosing and repairing trailers, including their brakes, suspension and running gear. Practical problem-solving and reading technical drawings are part of the job, so hands-on workshop experience, at home or abroad, will serve you well.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle fabrication, welding, structural repairs and bodywork on trailers of many makes and models
- Inspect and service trailers
- Diagnose faults and carry out trailer repairs
- Work on brakes, suspension and running gear
- Read technical drawings and solve hands-on problems in the workshop
Requirements & Eligibility
- Strong ability in welding and fabrication
- Can interpret technical drawings
- Experience with steel and aluminium, as well as proven heavy vehicle and trailer work
- Strong skills in mechanical fault-finding and repairs
- Familiar with running-gear brands used on trailers, such as K-Hitch, BPW, SAF and Hendrickson
- Hands-on experience with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Relevant trade qualifications and/or solid experience in the industry
- An advantage: an HR or other truck licence, a forklift licence, confined space certification, intermediate rigging and overhead crane experience
