Kabayan, if you already hold a caregiving qualification at Level 4 or above, or a nursing degree, this Blenheim opening could be a real step forward. A rest home in this New Zealand town, run by an aged and dementia care provider known for innovative approaches to care, is hiring a permanent, full-time Caregiver.
Your papers matter here. The provider is an Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer and is able to sponsor the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) for carers with a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 4 or higher qualification directly relevant to caregiving together with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA).
You would care for residents, including people living with dementia, with warmth and respect for their culture, follow their therapy plans and support the registered nurses, for at least 30 hours a week on any shift.
Hourly pay starts at $23.95 for Level 1, then $24.06 for Level 2 and $26.16 for Level 3, up to $28.25 for Level 4 and higher.

Key Responsibilities
- Bathing and dressing residents with care that is holistic and culturally safe
- Helping residents eat, get around and communicate
- Contributing ideas to care planning
- Following the therapy plans that support people living with dementia
- Watching residents' progress, reporting it, and speaking up early about changes or care concerns
- Keeping records accurate, appropriate and current, and supporting registered nurses within their scope of practice
Requirements & Eligibility
- A heart for improving the lives of elderly people and a love for aged care
- Openness to working any shift across a 24/7 roster
- Previous caregiving experience preferred, with dementia care experience a strong advantage
- For visa support: a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 4 or above caregiving qualification plus an International Qualification Assessment (IQA)
