An established Australian dairy manufacturer in northern New South Wales is hiring a Production Manager for its operation in Lismore, NSW. It makes powders, liquid and frozen products and butter for buyers in Australia and abroad.
You would lead the whole production side, from supervisors, operators and teams to the schedule, raw materials and resources, plus quality, food safety and safe work. Spray drying is an important part of the plant, so the employer is looking for practical, technical know-how there.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage production teams, supervisors and operators
- Encourage accountability, teamwork and safe habits in every team
- Develop staff in technical skills, leadership and performance
- Plan and organise production so the plant hits its targets day after day
- Handle production scheduling, resources, raw materials and priorities
- Watch over efficiency, productivity, quality and reliability in manufacturing
- Drive continuous improvement to boost productivity, cut cost and waste and use resources wisely
- Keep the plant compliant with workplace safety, food safety, GMP and HACCP
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, laboratory and other departments
- Review production data and KPIs to support decisions
- Oversee spray drying operations
- Give technical support on spray drying troubleshooting and process optimisation
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience as a Production Manager, Plant Manager or similar leader in manufacturing
- Strong experience leading people, planning production and handling manufacturing operations
- Hands-on experience from earlier roles with spray drying processes and the equipment behind them
- Able to look after multiple production processes at the same time and set clear priorities
- Proven continuous improvement experience, with a focus on efficiency and problem-solving
- Sound knowledge of product quality, good manufacturing practice and safety in the workplace
- Excellent skills in leading, communicating, organising and making decisions
- Effective English for safety communication and workplace documents
- Willing and able to move to Australia if needed, with dairy, food or powder ingredient manufacturing experience highly regarded
