A national horticultural company with a vertically integrated operation is hiring for its packing facility in the Bundaberg region, through a recruiter that works in agriculture.
Each day you would be part of a small maintenance crew under the Maintenance Supervisor, keeping packing line machinery and other mechanical equipment in good shape. Every repair you get right helps reduce breakdowns and keeps production moving. When production peaks, be ready for extra hours and the occasional Saturday, and during harvest you will travel from time to time to support maintenance at another packing site in the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical faults, then do the servicing and repairs that follow
- Keep packing line machines and associated equipment well maintained
- Find opportunities to make the machinery more reliable and efficient
- Guide co-workers and contractors on proper machine operation
- Observe safety procedures, keep quality records in order and carry out any other maintenance duties from the Maintenance Supervisor
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant mechanical trade qualifications, ideally Fitter (General) or Maintenance Fitter
- Experience on packing lines or food processing machinery and in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills for mechanical problems
- Familiarity with motors, pumps and both pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Skilled in welding and steel fabrication, and able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- A proactive mindset, a strong safety commitment, good communication skills and the ability to work on your own or with a team
- A current driver's licence
