Warehouse Manager

Have you led warehouse teams and kept a distribution operation running smoothly, whether back home in the Philippines or abroad? An established distribution business in Auckland, New Zealand is looking for an accomplished Warehouse Manager.
This role is for an experienced logistics professional who can show real leadership, solid operational knowledge and dependable warehouse results.
It is much more than looking after stock and dispatch. You will be trusted to lead people, improve systems, stay compliant, manage logistics partners and keep the whole operation moving efficiently from one day to the next.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and grow your supervisors and warehouse crew, from recruiting and onboarding to training and tracking how each person performs
- Take full ownership of the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse
- Plan each day's labour and resources around orders, shipments and what matters most operationally
- Keep inventory records accurate and organise scheduled stocktakes
- Track DIFOT, KPIs, productivity and service delivery
- Look at warehouse layouts and find ways to boost storage capacity and use of space
- Coordinate the devanning of import containers and the receiving work that goes with it
- Deal with Customs, freight and shipping companies and other logistics partners, and carry out MPI Facility Operator or Accredited Person duties where required
- Keep digital workflows accurate through the WMS and integrated IT platforms
- Team up with Sales, Finance, IT and other parts of the business, and manage outside suppliers and service providers
- Lead Health & Safety practices and build a strong safety culture
- Spot inefficiencies and put practical improvements in place, making sure facilities, equipment and resources are properly looked after
- Create a workplace where accountability, teamwork, reliability and continuous improvement are part of everyday life
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven track record as a Warehouse Manager, Distribution Manager or senior warehouse professional, including leading warehouse teams and operational staff
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, stock accuracy and warehouse planning
- Hands-on experience with international freight, imports and container handling
- Understanding of MPI processes and New Zealand compliance requirements is advantageous
- Solid knowledge of workplace Health & Safety and a practical commitment to it
- Excellent communication and people-management skills
- Confident at making decisions and solving problems
- Able to handle pressure and juggle competing priorities in a busy distribution setting
- Close attention to detail and care for operational accuracy
- Good IT skills, with experience using WMS or integrated warehouse systems in paperless or technology-enabled warehouses
- Commercial sense around productivity, resource allocation and operating costs
- Reliable, punctual, professional and committed to high standards
- Able to provide genuine evidence of your qualifications, experience and professional history for verification, and must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment, immigration and sponsorship requirements
