Are you a skilled stonemason ready for your next step? A full-time Stonemason role is open in Queensland for an experienced tradesperson who already knows stone fabrication and installation inside out.
You will be working with stone on residential and construction projects, turning measurements and technical plans into finished pieces such as benchtops, splashbacks and custom stone features. What matters most here is real trade ability, careful attention to detail and work that comes out accurate and professional every time.
Whether you built your skills in the Middle East, back home in the Philippines or somewhere else, this is a chance to put that experience to good use.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit stone benchtops, splashbacks and other architectural features, plus fireplaces, barbecues and custom stone pieces
- Study the technical drawings and project specs before any stonework begins
- Measure carefully and work out how much material each job needs
- Cut, shape, polish and finish stone to suit each project, then get the components ready for installation
- Inspect finished work for alignment, correct measurements, finish and overall quality
- Coordinate project needs with installation crews and the other trades on site
- Run specialised stoneworking machinery and hand tools, keeping all equipment in good working order
- Sort out measuring, fabrication or installation problems as they come up
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at every stage of the job
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised qualification in stonemasonry or formal trade training, plus a trade certificate in stonemasonry
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in the trade
- Hands-on, demonstrated experience in stone fabrication and installation
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications well
- Confident using professional equipment for cutting, shaping and finishing stone
- A proven eye for precision, accurate measurements and quality finishing
- Practical problem-solving skills in fabrication and installation settings, and the ability to work on your own while still being a good team player
- Good physical capacity to handle and install stone materials
- Commitment to safe work practices and professional workmanship, and able to provide supporting evidence of your qualifications and relevant employment experience
