Do you love being where the building happens? An established company that builds infrastructure wants an experienced Site Engineer to join its structural concrete and civil infrastructure work in the ACT.
You will be the person who looks after engineering and quality from construction all the way to completion, working side by side with the project managers and the site delivery crew. Expect plenty of planning, technical coordination, paperwork and quality checks, plus keeping each day's progress on track. Real site experience and solid technical knowledge are expected.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after the engineering side of civil infrastructure and structural concrete works
- Work with construction crews, supervisors and project managers so site engineering needs are covered
- Set up the project's quality assurance procedures and ITP requirements, and keep them in place
- Take care of hold points, witness points, inspection requests and quality records for construction
- Put together and update handover documentation, conformance records and lot documents for the project
- Spot non-conformances, write them up and help fix them
- Go through specifications, structural details, construction drawings and project requirements, raising RFIs and sorting out technical questions with contractors, consultants and clients
- Back up the crew with engineering advice while formwork, reinforcement and concrete are being done
- Help set out the site and confirm the construction works are right
- Watch how reinforcement is installed so the works match the approved specifications and drawings
- Compare progress with the project program and speak up early about any delays
- Line up the plant, materials and consumables each planned site activity needs
- Be part of progress reviews, coordination meetings and site inspections, and give technical help to the construction and supervision teams
- Keep project, quality and engineering paperwork accurate, and help meet environmental and safety compliance on site
- Get along and work well with subcontractors, head contractors and other project stakeholders
- Help the team deliver on quality, program and delivery goals, and suggest ways to keep improving how engineering and construction are done
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years as a Site Engineer on Australian structural concrete or civil infrastructure projects
- Tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a Structural Engineering-related discipline
- You can show a practical understanding of site delivery and construction engineering
- Strong knowledge of construction documentation, inspections, ITPs and QA systems
- Comfortable reading and making sense of technical specifications and structural drawings
- Have handled non-conformance processes, technical queries and RFIs before
- Strong verbal and written communication, and good at organising work and keeping documentation in order
- White Card
- Current driver's licence
- Able to get the project access clearances and ACT site inductions that are required
- Comfortable working on active construction sites
- A reliable, professional attitude toward your project duties
- A strong team player who communicates well with stakeholders and is willing to keep learning and developing professionally
- Bridge construction experience is highly regarded
- Experience on water infrastructure, spillways or dams is highly regarded
- Having worked with Tier 1 or Tier 2 head contractors is highly regarded, and so is experience in quality control, fixing supervision, procurement and reinforcement scheduling
