Are you an industrial electrician who loves finding and fixing faults? This Service Technician role in Adelaide lets you take your skills into a specialised field-service career looking after overhead cranes, hoists, gantries and industrial lifting systems.
You will get training specific to the industry while using the electrical know-how you already have for fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, commissioning and breakdown call-outs.

Key Responsibilities
- Track down electrical faults on overhead cranes, hoists and industrial lifting equipment, using your diagnostic skills to solve even complex problems
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency faults and carry out the repairs
- Do scheduled preventative maintenance and electrical inspections
- Test, commission and troubleshoot crane control systems
- Work hands-on with PLCs, motors, contactors, VSDs, limit switches and related controls
- Service and maintain equipment to the standards required
- Write clear, accurate service reports and maintenance records
- Visit customer sites around the city and in regional areas, with some interstate travel from time to time
- Take your turn on a rotating on-call roster
- Work extra hours and guaranteed overtime as needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Cert III in Electrotechnology or an equivalent qualification
- A Current Electrical Licence or a Provisional Electrical Licence
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician
- Hands-on experience with PLC fault-finding
- Proven ability to diagnose electrical problems on your own
- Practical experience with industrial motors and control systems, plus strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently while keeping good, professional relationships with customers
- Willing to learn the technology behind overhead cranes and lifting equipment
- Willing to travel approximately 10–30% outside metropolitan areas
- Suitable candidates with verified qualifications and relevant experience may be considered for sponsorship
