Looking for a hands-on job in renewable energy? A growing solar business that handles commercial and industrial projects across NSW wants a practical, motivated Solar Installation Technician to join the crew.
You do not have to come from solar already. If you have transferable construction or installation experience, your practical ability can be assessed against what the role needs. What matters is genuine hands-on skill, relevant experience and a solid understanding of safe work practices.
You will work beside an experienced team on solar installation projects and get the chance to build your technical skills in the renewable energy sector. Construction and installation work you did in the Philippines or overseas can count as relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Help install commercial and industrial solar systems, placing solar panels and mounting structures under the team's supervision
- Use hand tools and basic power tools the right way
- Move and handle materials, equipment and components safely
- Follow installation instructions, manuals and technical drawings
- Support the crew in day-to-day installation work
- Help with site preparation, set-up and clean-up
- Keep your work area tidy and free of safety hazards, following established workplace health and safety procedures
- Work well with installers, supervisors and other people on site
- Finish assigned tasks with care for quality and detail
- Work on your own when needed
- Be ready to travel interstate for projects when necessary
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant practical experience in solar, construction, electrical support or installation work
- Having done solar installation before is advantageous but not essential
- Able to show genuine practical skills and employment experience
- Able to understand technical drawings, manuals and work instructions
- Strong problem-solving skills and practical thinking
- Reliable, motivated and committed, with a strong focus on workplace safety
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to travel interstate when required
- Australian Driver Licence, plus your own vehicle and reliable transport
- Construction White Card, or willingness to obtain one
- Height Safety ticket, or willingness to obtain one
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career in renewable energy
- Sponsorship is available for the right candidate
