Key Responsibilities
- Do complete assessments and listen to residents and their families to understand health and care needs
- Join resident admissions and ongoing reviews
- Prepare, carry out and update care plans regularly
- Keep accurate clinical notes, always on time
- Provide direct nursing care to residents when needed
- Administer medicines safely and handle ordering, storage and documentation properly
- Observe residents' wellbeing and respond to any change in their clinical condition
- Coordinate with residents, families, carers, GPs and fellow staff for good health outcomes
- Encourage a safe, respectful and person-centred environment
- Take part in quality, compliance and continuous improvement, and guide care staff on clinical needs
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience and/or knowledge in residential aged care
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Medication management and documentation skills that are just as strong
- Understanding of aged care accreditation and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of government standards for aged care delivery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- A current National Criminal History Check, or the ability to obtain one
- Genuine passion for supporting older people to live with dignity, choice and respect
- Must meet the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening
