You will join a caring clinical team in a modern aged care setting, giving person-centred care, looking after residents' health and wellbeing, and guiding the care staff around you. Nurses from the Philippines and from all over the world who have a heart for the elderly are warmly invited to take a look.
Key Responsibilities
- Give residents high-quality nursing care that is based on evidence
- Keep a close eye on residents' health, assess them regularly and act quickly when their condition changes
- Give medications and clinical treatments safely and accurately
- Write, put into action and review personalised care plans
- Lead, supervise and mentor the nursing and personal care teams, supporting Graduate Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Care Workers in their daily work
- Work hand in hand with families, doctors and other medical practitioners, and allied health professionals
- Keep clinical notes and resident records complete and accurate
- Follow best practice in infection prevention and clinical governance, and make sure aged care standards and professional nursing requirements are met
- Take part in quality improvement projects across the facility
- Keep learning through ongoing education and mandatory training
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Bachelor of Nursing qualification
- Current, unrestricted AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
- Current certificates in First Aid and CPR
- Experience in residential aged care before is highly regarded
- Strong skills in clinical assessment and care planning
- Good knowledge of infection control practices and Australian aged care standards
- A commitment to compassionate, ethical, resident-focused care, plus excellent teamwork, leadership and communication skills
- A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Up-to-date COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations as the employer requires
