Poultry Farm Manager

Have you spent years working on a poultry farm and want to grow your career in Australia? An experienced Poultry Farm Manager is needed to run a commercial broiler operation in New South Wales, in the Tamworth area.
You will look after the full production cycle, lead the farm crew and work side by side with experienced operational and technical people. If you already manage a poultry site, or you are an accomplished 2IC ready to move up, this role gives you the structure and support to build your future in Australia.
Each applicant's experience and suitability is carefully assessed so the role truly matches your background. Poultry experience gained in the Philippines or anywhere overseas is looked at as part of this assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and coordinating the farm crew so daily production targets are met
- Running the full broiler production cycle, from placement right through to collection
- Preparing staff rosters and sharing out duties effectively
- Keeping a close eye on bird health, welfare, growth and how the whole flock is performing
- Managing feeding, watering, ventilation and the shed environment
- Checking production results using farm management systems and data, and taking corrective action when needed
- Keeping biosecurity strong across the farm and making sure animal welfare and workplace health and safety standards are always followed
- Organising shed preparation, cleaning and turnaround
- Overseeing upkeep of feeding, drinking, ventilation and generator systems, and arranging the right maintenance when equipment or operational problems come up
- Keeping accurate farm, production and compliance records
- Working with vets, technical specialists and processor representatives, and giving senior management clear updates and performance reports
- Taking part in after-hours and on-call duties
- Supporting continuous improvement in farm operations
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in commercial broiler poultry
- Previous experience as a Poultry Farm Manager or an experienced 2IC
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a farm team
- Strong practical understanding of poultry production and flock management, including ventilation and climate-control systems
- Understanding of what poultry biosecurity and welfare require
- Ability to track production data and make practical operational decisions
- Good communication, organisation and record-keeping skills, and the ability to use computers and relevant farm management systems
- A reliable, calm approach when operational challenges come up
- A current driver’s licence
- Willingness to live on site and availability for an after-hours and on-call roster
- Genuine commitment to animal welfare, workplace safety and production standards
