A professional production bakery in New South Wales is looking for a Pastry Chef or Bakery Assistant with genuine hands-on experience in cake and pastry preparation, commercial bakery equipment and food-production standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Weigh out and prepare ingredients for cakes, pastries and other baked goods, then mix them accurately with commercial bakery equipment
- Run ovens, mixers, dispensers and other production machines
- Keep an eye on baking and production so every batch stays consistent
- Keep the production line organised and running efficiently
- Stick to set recipes, quality standards and production procedures
- Put HACCP, GMP, hygiene and food safety requirements into practice every day
- Keep your work area clean and hygienic during production, and clean and look after bakery machines and equipment
- Lift, carry, push and pull materials and products of up to 25kg safely
- Help the rest of the bakery team hit production requirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hands-on experience in a commercial bakery, pastry kitchen or food-production setting
- Able to show you can make and produce pastry or bakery products
- A relevant qualification in baking or food production is advantageous
- Good knowledge of hygiene and food safety practices in a commercial setting, and an understanding of HACCP and GMP principles
- Can use bakery equipment safely and efficiently
- Careful about product consistency and quality, and works well as part of a production team
- Physically able to handle loads of up to 25kg
- Currently living in Australia
- Able to give supporting proof of your relevant work experience and qualifications
- Eligible candidates may be considered for sponsorship through the Orana DAMA
