Key Responsibilities
- Assess accident and body damage on vehicles and decide on the right repair and restoration approach
- Take off damaged panels, parts and body components
- Fix or replace panels when needed
- Straighten, align and restore the structure of vehicle bodies
- Do welding and metalwork
- Work with specialist panel repair tools and workshop equipment
- Team up with mechanics and spray painters to complete repairs
- Check finished repairs for accuracy, safety and quality of finish
- Keep the workshop safe, clean and organised, following all relevant workplace health and safety procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant panel beating experience
- Strong hands-on knowledge of automotive body repair techniques, and experience with professional panel beating and repair equipment
- Able to spot damage and choose the right repair method
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
- Good communication skills, a team player, and able to work efficiently within workshop timeframes
- Valid driver's licence
- Qualification and employment history that can be verified
- Sponsorship may be available under the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Subclass 482 pathway for a suitable international candidate
