Are you a skilled Metal Fabricator (Boilermaker Welder) ready for your next big step? An established industrial engineering and maintenance business in Western Australia has a full-time opening for an experienced tradesperson like you.
Expect a practical, hands-on job that covers metal fabrication, welding, assembly, repairs and maintenance. Your days will mix workshop duties with field-based work, such as site maintenance and responding to breakdowns.
Fabrication experience gained on projects in the Middle East or back home in the Philippines counts, so if you have the skills listed below, this is worth a look.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and make sense of engineering drawings, plans and specifications
- Measure up and set out each piece of fabrication work
- Cut and prepare structural and mechanical materials, then bend and shape the metal components
- Build and assemble components and structures, completing welding and related fabrication processes
- Repair and modify plant and equipment
- Help with maintenance on both fixed plant and mobile plant
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out corrective repairs
- Handle fabrication tasks in the workshop and out on site
- Check fabricated parts for quality and accuracy so the work meets the required specifications and standards
- Run workshop machinery and fabrication equipment, and take care of routine machinery maintenance
- Work by safe work procedures and site requirements
- Keep your work area tidy, organised and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate III or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years full-time experience in Metal Fabrication
- Proven Boilermaker/Welder experience with strong fabrication and welding capabilities
- Competent at reading engineering drawings
- A National Police Certificate
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical assessment and of drug and alcohol screening
- Construction White Card
- Working at Heights certification obtained within the past 2 years
- Confined Space certification obtained within the past 2 years
- A valid Australian Driver Licence
- A strong commitment to safety and quality, plus good communication and teamwork skills
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or relevant work rights
- Sponsorship is available for suitable overseas applicants
