Here is a chance to use your automotive skills in a professional workshop in Queensland. The workshop wants mechanics and apprentices who can show what they can actually do, not only what is written on their CV.
You may be working through an apprenticeship, finishing a Job Ready Program, already qualified, or bringing automotive experience gained overseas, whether in the Philippines, the Middle East or elsewhere. In every case, this role gives your skills and experience the chance to be properly recognised, with genuine experience, practical ability and reliability at the centre of it all.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle regular vehicle servicing and scheduled maintenance
- Check vehicles over, assess their mechanical condition and work out what repairs are needed, recommending the right fix
- Find faults through proper testing methods, diagnostic work and fault-finding
- Do mechanical repairs and replace components, finishing each job efficiently and to a high standard
- Use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment safely and the right way
- Stick to workshop procedures and safety standards and keep a professional standard on every repair and service
- Work well on your own and with the rest of the team
- Keep learning and building your technical knowledge and hands-on automotive skills
Requirements & Eligibility
- A background as an Automotive Mechanic or Apprentice Mechanic, or other relevant automotive experience
- 1st Year and 2nd Year Apprentices are invited to apply
- Experienced and Qualified Mechanics are welcome, and candidates completing a Job Ready Program may be considered
- Applicants from overseas with relevant automotive experience are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated hands-on experience servicing vehicles and doing mechanical repairs
- Experience in automotive diagnostics and fault-finding is advantageous
- Able to show genuine, practical automotive skill
- Reliable, punctual and accountable, with a professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Committed to quality workmanship and safe work practices, and able to work independently and as a positive part of a team
- Motivated to build and strengthen a long-term career in automotive
