Kabayan, if your hands know their way around engines, heavy equipment or rail vehicles, this one is worth a look. An international maker of rolling stock that keeps the electric passenger trains of Wellington, New Zealand, moving has opened several permanent, full-time Maintenance Mechanical Engineer positions in its local maintenance crew.
Your days would involve tracing faults, servicing and repairing electric multiple units and passenger carriages, and recovering them after incidents. It is a safety-critical workplace with shift work and no fewer than 40 hours a week. Engineers with electrical, mechanical, rail, industrial or automotive experience, including those who built it while working overseas, fit the profile.
There is good news for applicants abroad too, since overseas candidates are welcome, and because the employer is accredited, it offers sponsorship support on the AEWV (Accredited Employer Work Visa) for the right candidates with rolling stock experience.
