HVAC Tradesperson / Air Conditioning Technician

Your mechanical skills can take you further than one more ordinary workshop job. This opening in Smeaton Grange, Sydney is with a specialised mechanical operation that looks after fleet vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for the aviation sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and repair light vehicles, heavy vehicles and specialised GSE
- Carry out detailed mechanical inspections to pinpoint faults, including mechanical, diesel and hydraulic issues
- Handle scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Fix breakdowns and get equipment back in working order
- Use your hands-on diagnostic skills to work out the most efficient way to repair
- Work on specialised equipment used in aviation support operations
- Follow the set safety procedures when working in controlled areas
- Keep accurate records of finished maintenance and repair work, and log faults, repairs and service activities in the required systems
- Work well with fellow mechanics, supervisors and clients
- Show professional standards whenever you represent the business
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas tidy and in line with safety requirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant trade qualification in Light Vehicle or Heavy Diesel Mechanics
- Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on mechanical experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience working on light vehicles, heavy vehicles or heavy equipment, with strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Able to show genuine, verifiable trade experience and provide supporting qualification and employment documents
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and maintenance procedures
- Able to work on your own and be a positive part of a team
- Current HR Driver Licence
- Diesel and hydraulic experience is advantageous
- Breakdown maintenance experience is advantageous
- Welding skills are advantageous
- Ground Support Equipment or aviation experience is advantageous
- Able to obtain a Police Clearance and an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Able to pass the required drug and alcohol screening
- Willing to go through identity, qualification and employment verification
