An organisation in Queensland is looking for a part-time Human Resources Manager to take charge of its key HR functions and help keep a workforce of more than 160 employees capable, engaged and compliant. If you have built your HR career in the Philippines, the Middle East or elsewhere, make sure your background and expertise can be backed by genuine, verifiable experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and put into practice workable HR strategies, advising leadership on what the workforce needs
- Run recruitment and talent acquisition
- Plan for workforce capability and succession
- Help lift employee engagement and retention
- Handle performance and employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes
- Keep the organisation compliant with employment legislation and awards
- Look over HR policies, procedures and documents and keep them current
- Put together workforce reports and HR metrics
- Support the remuneration review process
- Assist with injury management and return-to-work programs
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a senior HR professional role
- A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred
- Background in construction, mining, engineering, infrastructure or similar operational sectors
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, plus an understanding of modern awards and workplace relations
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations and investigations
- A strong background in recruitment and workforce planning
- Excellent skills in analysis, communication and negotiation
- Able to work with senior leaders as well as operational employees
- Experience using HRIS and payroll platforms
- Able to work independently in a hands-on environment
- Sponsorship or migration experience is highly regarded; sponsorship is available for eligible candidates
