Established operations across Victoria are looking for Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics with genuine hands-on experience. Whether you are strongest in workshop repairs or mobile field service, your practical skills and work background will play a big part in selection. If you have kept heavy vehicles on the road in the Middle East or back home in the Philippines, make sure that experience shows in your application.
You will get exposure to different heavy vehicle fleets, truck brands and repair needs, plus chances to grow your career in the heavy automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect trucks, trailers and their associated components
- Service and maintain heavy commercial vehicles, including preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Use diagnostic equipment and mechanical testing procedures to find mechanical, electrical and diesel-related faults
- Carry out repairs and fault-finding on heavy vehicle systems
- Handle breakdown repairs and corrective maintenance
- Work on many truck brands and customer fleets, in the workshop or out on field service assignments as required
- Keep service records and repair paperwork up to date
- Follow workplace health, safety and quality procedures
- Look after tools, equipment and service vehicles properly
- Work well together with technicians and supervisors
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holding a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology is essential
- Proven hands-on work as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
- Can show capability in servicing, repairs and diagnostics
- A genuine, verifiable employment history in heavy vehicle mechanics, backed by evidence of your qualifications and work experience
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Australian working rights that suit the position
- Strong problem-solving skills on mechanical issues
- Committed to safe, high-quality workmanship
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a technical team, in workshop or field service environments
- Sponsorship available for eligible candidates, subject to requirements and approvals
