An established salon in Victoria is looking for a Senior Hairdresser with real hands-on experience in cutting, colouring and styling. You will bring your expertise into a supportive team and keep growing your career at the same time.
The salon expects consistent, high-quality work, confident communication with clients and a warm contribution to the salon culture. Over time, you can also build your own personal clientele. Stylists from the Philippines and other countries are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Talk with each client to understand what they need from their hair
- Suggest suitable hair care routines and professional products
- Do precision cuts with scissors, thinning scissors and clippers, including men's cuts and styling
- Colour and highlight hair to a professional standard
- Carry out chemical straightening and other suitable treatments
- Shampoo, condition and prepare the scalp
- Style hair for formal occasions, events and professional sessions
- Braid hair and work with hair pieces when needed
- Create personalised styles that match what the client likes
- Keep your technical work and presentation at a high standard, with a tidy, hygienic workstation
- Build warm, professional relationships with clients and help grow a loyal clientele
- Be part of a cooperative, supportive salon team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional hairdressing experience with practical skills you can demonstrate
- A maximum of 5 years' experience in the industry
- Strong cutting, colouring and styling ability, including highlighting and chemical treatments
- Confident cutting both men's and women's hair
- Capable with event and occasion styling
- Good understanding of hair care and recommending products
- Strong client consultation and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual and professionally presented, with a friendly, confident customer service style
- Works well within a team
- Committed to quality and attentive to detail
- Flexible with working hours; sponsorship is available for the right candidate
