Electrician

Are you an experienced electrician who also knows your way around security systems? An employer in New South Wales is looking for an Electrical & Security Technician with real trade skills who can take charge of jobs in homes and commercial sites alike.
Aside from standard electrical work, you will handle modern security setups such as CCTV, alarms, intercoms and access control. The work is local, the hours are a steady 40-hour week, and you will get the support and training to widen your technical skills.
If you trained and worked overseas, whether in the Philippines, the Middle East or elsewhere, and you meet Australian licensing eligibility, you are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Take on electrical installations, maintenance and repairs in homes and commercial properties
- Install and look after CCTV and security surveillance systems
- Set up and service alarms, and install and maintain intercoms and access control
- Visit customer sites and finish assigned jobs to a high professional standard
- Understand what each job needs and complete it accurately and efficiently
- Build good relationships with clients through professional communication and presentation, keeping them updated on job progress and requirements
- Own your assigned jobs and work with little supervision
- Follow electrical safety requirements and workplace procedures
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas tidy and safe
- Represent the business well in customers' homes and commercial premises
Requirements & Eligibility
- An Australian electrical licence, or an overseas electrical qualification that is eligible for Australian licensing
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on electrical experience
- Proven experience in both residential and commercial electrical work, handling electrical systems and installations with confidence
- CCTV, alarm, intercom or access control experience is advantageous
- Your own electrical hand tools
- Australian driver's licence and White Card
- Working at Heights and EWP tickets would be an advantage
- Good customer service and communication skills
- A professional appearance and manner when dealing with clients
- Dependable, self-motivated and able to work on your own
- Able to provide qualifications and work experience that can be verified
