Crane Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Are you a diesel mechanic who enjoys keeping big machines running? A well-established and growing heavy equipment company is looking for an experienced Mobile Crane Mechanic to look after its modern fleet of mobile cranes and heavy vehicles, so they stay safe, reliable and efficient on construction, industrial and infrastructure projects.
You will split your time between the workshop and job sites as needed, using your diagnostic skills to cut downtime while keeping safety and quality high. The company provides a fully maintained work vehicle, a fuel card and a mobile phone, plus ongoing training, career development and long-term employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Work well alongside crane operators, workshop staff and site personnel
- Carry out regular scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on mobile cranes and other heavy equipment
- Find and fix mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency call-outs when needed
- Inspect, service and look after heavy diesel engines and their parts
- Make sure every repair follows the manufacturer's specifications and workplace safety standards
- Keep maintenance records, inspection reports and service paperwork complete and up to date, and keep your work area clean, safe and organised
- Help improve how reliably the equipment runs and how well it performs
Requirements & Eligibility
- A trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent), plus a minimum three years of experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Experience in servicing mobile cranes or heavy plant equipment is highly desirable
- Strong skills in fault-finding and diagnostics
- Able to work on your own and also as part of a team
- A real commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- A current driver's licence (an HR licence is preferred)
- A Construction White Card, or the ability to get one
- Excellent skills in communication and problem-solving
