Love cooking a good breakfast? A fast-growing hospitality business in New South Wales needs a Cook who can turn solid kitchen experience into dependable results, plate after plate.
The kitchen focuses on breakfast and brunch and gets busy, so you will need to own your cooking during service, keep recipes consistent and work within the systems already in place. The right person shows practical skill, reliability and the discipline to hold standards when things get hectic.
Kitchen experience gained in the Philippines, the Middle East or anywhere else is worth highlighting, as long as it can be backed up.
Key Responsibilities
- Get the daily prep and mise en place done according to what the day requires
- Prepare breakfast and brunch dishes following the set recipes and specifications
- Cook classic Australian breakfast and brunch favourites to a consistent standard
- Handle cooking duties through service with little supervision
- Keep food quality, presentation and portions consistent on every plate
- Work quickly and smoothly with the kitchen team when service gets busy, keeping communication clear throughout
- Stick to the kitchen's established recipes, procedures and operating systems
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and food-safe to a high standard
- Take feedback in a positive way and put the needed improvements into practice
- Help out with weekend and public holiday trading as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial kitchen experience as a Cook that you can demonstrate
- Hands-on experience making breakfast and brunch-style dishes
- Confident working on your own during service
- A proven track record of following recipes and established kitchen systems
- A consistent way of preparing food and meeting quality standards
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
- Reliable, punctual and professional at work, and able to stay calm and organised in a fast-paced kitchen
- Willing to follow workplace procedures and take constructive feedback on board
- Available to work weekends and public holidays
- Relevant experience you can support with appropriate employment evidence
