Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare Italian dishes to the kitchen's standards, helping with pasta, sauces and traditional Italian prep
- Get mise en place and the day's kitchen prep done
- Keep the taste, quality and presentation of every dish consistent
- Follow recipes, cooking methods and directions from the senior chefs
- Keep up a good pace when the kitchen is busy
- Keep your station clean, tidy and hygienic, and follow food safety and workplace health and safety rules
- Lend a hand to your kitchen teammates when needed and help keep the kitchen respectful and productive
- Take feedback on board and put new techniques and procedures into practice
- Show up reliable and professional with a positive attitude
Requirements & Eligibility
- Interest or experience in commercial cooking that you can demonstrate
- A genuine passion for Italian cuisine
- A reliable, consistent approach, a strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility
- Able to follow instructions and learn from experienced chefs, with practical kitchen skills that match your experience level
- Previous hospitality or kitchen experience is advantageous
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Willing to grow professionally within the Australian hospitality industry
- Candidates from entry-level through to experienced backgrounds may be considered
- Able to provide genuine and verifiable details of your employment or skills where required
- Must meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements; visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates
