Calling experienced welders! A long-term opportunity is open in Kwinana, Perth for a Coded Welder who can take on demanding industrial maintenance and fabrication work.
This job is meant for tradespeople with real hands-on experience, recognised qualifications and the technical skill to meet coded welding requirements. Your work will cover fixed plant maintenance, structural fabrication, repairs, modifications, shutdowns and breakdowns.
Whether you have welded on plants and projects in the Philippines, the Middle East or elsewhere, you are encouraged to apply if you have a strong employment history and proof of your welding and fabrication experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out coded welding on structural steel and pressure pipe
- Complete 6G welding and fabrication work to the required standard
- Repair and modify fixed plant equipment
- Fabricate and fix piping, tanks, chutes, hoppers and ductwork
- Repair structural supports and swap out worn or damaged parts
- Work on pumps, thickeners and other industrial plant
- Follow engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Do planned preventative maintenance and help with corrective and breakdown maintenance
- Join shutdowns and scheduled maintenance campaigns
- Handle fabrication jobs both in the workshop and out on site
- Keep every task accurate, safe and high quality, following site safety procedures and the required welding standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience working as a Coded Welder that you can demonstrate, backed by a strong hands-on welding and fabrication background
- Able to pass a 6G weld test successfully
- Cert III Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Engineering Trade qualification
- Fixed plant maintenance experience is highly desirable
- A verifiable work history in welding and fabrication
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications
- Your Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications need to have been obtained within the previous 2 years
- Current driver's licence
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical
- Able to provide evidence of your relevant qualifications and trade experience
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and professional workmanship
