Key Responsibilities
- Cook a range of high-quality dishes that meet what customers expect, and help deliver the menu when service gets busy
- Take charge of food prep tasks and help the kitchen run smoothly
- Keep food quality, plating and portion sizes consistent every time
- Work hand in hand with the kitchen crew to keep service efficient, and help build a positive, professional team
- Help with stock control, ingredient prep and keeping the kitchen organised
- Follow food safety steps and keep hygiene standards high
- Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and in line with workplace standards
- Share what you know and help the kitchen keep getting better
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven work experience as a Chef in a commercial hospitality setting, including busy restaurants, hotels or similar food service operations
- Able to keep quality and consistency high during high-volume service
- Strong knowledge of kitchen procedures, food safety and hygiene practices
- Excellent teamwork and communication, with a positive attitude and strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Good organisational skills and an eye for detail
- Relevant culinary training or industry experience preferred
- Overseas applicants must be eligible under New Zealand work visa requirements; sponsorship is available for qualified candidates
