You would take the pans (pasta) or larder section and handle it on your own, bringing a true understanding of Italian cooking and culture. Every day the team rolls fresh pasta in a brand new kitchen with ingredients from artisan Italian producers and nearby farmers.
The job begins as casual work, up to 40 hours each week on a steady roster, and full-time contracts are assessed once you complete a trial of at least four weeks. Key Responsibilities
- Handle the pans or larder station by yourself during service
- Prepare mise en place and look after pre-service prep
- Look after the quality of your own dishes
- Work closely with the Sous Chef through prep and service while keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and up to food safety standards
- Help grow a cheerful, motivated team and keep learning as you go
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant qualifications
- Solid industry training
- Experience leading a section during busy service
- Able to work independently and stay organised
- A strong communicator
- A genuine interest in Italian culture and cuisine, and in the story of where good produce comes from
- Good knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene, and a team player who brings a lot as an individual too
