Calling all passionate chefs! A well-established premium hospitality venue in Southland, New Zealand needs an experienced Chef de Partie for a full-time role. If you enjoy the energy of a fast-paced commercial kitchen and like cooking high-quality dishes in a range of dining styles, you will feel right at home.
You will be part of an experienced culinary team, helping the kitchen run smoothly each day while keeping food quality, consistency and presentation spot on. The venue offers excellent career development opportunities in a professional hospitality setting. Hotel or restaurant experience from the Philippines, the Middle East or anywhere else is worth including in your application.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook high-quality dishes that follow set recipes and standards, keeping quality, presentation and portions consistent
- Help with food preparation and the daily running of the kitchen
- Keep food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards in place
- Help prepare menus and roll out seasonal menu changes
- Watch food quality and keep kitchen waste low
- Stay efficient and on time when service is busy
- Help rotate stock and manage inventory
- Keep your work area clean, organised and safe, following workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Work well with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Help out with catering, functions and special events when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum of 2 years working in a commercial kitchen
- A Level 4 Cookery qualification or equivalent
- Has worked as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role
- Experience in a hotel, function or high-volume kitchen is advantageous, and experience with à la carte, fusion or Asian cuisine is an advantage
- A real passion for cooking high-quality food
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Can handle pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Positive attitude and flexible about working different shifts
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Willing to relocate to Southland, New Zealand
