Openings are for Curry Chefs, Tandoor Chefs, South Indian Chefs and Indian Cuisine Cooks. The business wants people with proven cooking ability, dependable performance in the kitchen and a strong understanding of authentic Indian food.
Your skills, your consistency and how confidently you work as part of a commercial kitchen team will show your experience. If you learned Indian cooking in a commercial kitchen in the Middle East, the Philippines or elsewhere, that hands-on experience is what this role asks you to show.
Key Responsibilities
- Get ingredients ready and finish kitchen prep before service
- Cook authentic Indian dishes to commercial standards, using specialised curry, tandoor and South Indian techniques
- Keep taste, texture, quality and presentation the same every time
- Handle your cooking duties efficiently when service gets busy
- Stick to established recipes, prep methods and quality standards
- Work with the rest of the kitchen staff to keep food service running smoothly
- Help out with catering and event kitchen operations when required
- Keep strict hygiene and food safety practices and a clean, organised, professional kitchen
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven commercial experience cooking Indian cuisine
- Expertise in curry, tandoor or South Indian cooking that you can demonstrate
- Strong practical knowledge of Indian cooking methods and ingredients
- Able to turn out high-quality dishes consistently
- Experience in a busy restaurant, catering or events kitchen
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
- Able to keep quality up while working under pressure
- Reliable attendance, a strong professional work ethic and good communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous
- Sponsorship is available for eligible candidates, who must satisfy the applicable requirements for sponsorship
