You will use your technical know-how to help mining operations get better reliability, availability and productivity from their equipment, teaming up with site maintenance crews to find problems through diagnostics and fault-finding, suggest fixes and improve maintenance practices. Depending on what the operation needs, you will balance advisory work with hands-on support.

Key Responsibilities
- Track down faults on Caterpillar heavy mobile equipment and use fault-finding to keep downtime low
- Look into equipment performance problems and decide on the right corrective action
- Give site maintenance staff specialist technical guidance
- Inspect equipment and flag possible reliability concerns early
- Help plan and carry out preventative maintenance
- Assist with planned maintenance work and component replacement
- Provide technical support on warranty-related matters
- Assess equipment condition, recommend maintenance improvements and give technical input on fleet optimisation
- Find ways to lift operating efficiency, availability and reliability
- Take part in continuous improvement projects across customer sites
- Roll up your sleeves for hands-on technical support when operations need it
- Keep service and technical records clear and accurate
- Help with technical training and sharing knowledge, and build good working relationships with customers and site teams
- Follow site safety rules, procedures and environmental standards, and work FIFO rosters and extended shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Mobile Plant Trade Certificate, or an equivalent qualification from overseas
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining heavy mobile plant equipment
- Previous work in mining, field service or large-scale equipment maintenance
- Strong hands-on experience with Caterpillar machinery is highly regarded
- Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to analyse equipment problems and recommend effective fixes
- Sound grasp of equipment reliability principles and preventative maintenance
- Able to mix technical advisory duties with hands-on work
- Strong communication and people skills, with a professional approach to customers and stakeholders
- Able to work on your own as well as with a maintenance team
- Willing to work FIFO rosters and 12-hour shifts
- Committed to safety and compliance in remote mining settings
- High-risk work licences such as Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging or Working at Heights are advantageous; overseas applicants with suitable qualifications and experience may be considered for visa sponsorship
