Got steady welding hands and an eye for accurate work? A Boilermaker is needed for structural steel projects in Penrith, New South Wales, where practical trade skill and reliable workmanship really count.
You will fabricate and weld structural steel, working from drawings and set specifications to turn out quality work safely and efficiently. If you have done steel fabrication in the Middle East, back home in the Philippines or elsewhere, your experience could fit right in.
The role offers an immediate start, steady weekday hours and the chance of ongoing work depending on performance and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Read engineering drawings and fabrication plans before getting started
- Measure, mark, cut and prep steel components, then fit and assemble the fabricated sections accurately
- Do structural steel fabrication and assembly work, helping projects get finished efficiently
- MIG weld to the project's quality specifications
- Check welds and finished components for quality and accuracy
- Use workshop and fabrication tools the right and safe way
- Stick to project specs, workplace procedures and safety rules, wearing the right PPE and working safely
- Work well with other trades and project staff
- Keep your work area tidy, organised and free of hazards, and speak up quickly about safety concerns, defects or material issues
- Hit production schedules and project deadlines
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised trade qualification as a Boilermaker, Fitter, Cert III Engineering & Fabrication or a related discipline
- Proven structural steel fabrication experience and strong MIG welding skills
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- A current White Card, plus your own tools and appropriate PPE
- Careful about workmanship, accuracy and safety
- Can work on your own while contributing well as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
- An EWP ticket is advantageous, a Working at Heights certification is an advantage, and a Forklift licence is a bonus
- Available to start work immediately and for Monday-to-Friday shifts
- Applicants who need visa sponsorship may be considered, subject to applicable eligibility requirements
