Boilermaker

A qualification on paper is a start, but this employer wants to see what you can actually do. An established industrial business in Queensland is hiring a skilled Boilermaker for both workshop jobs and remote sites.
It is a good match for experienced Boilermakers who can back up their credentials with real fabrication work and time in heavy industry. You will need practical welding and fabrication skills, a good feel for quality requirements and the ability to work safely and efficiently around heavy equipment and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Cut, bend, shape and prep steel plates and sections, then weld and fabricate them to the job specifications
- Do steel fabrication and boilermaking work with the right tools and equipment
- Work closely with the leading hand and the fabrication crew, in production and out on site
- Check your finished work against customer specifications and quality requirements, keeping quality assurance consistent on every task
- Follow safe work practices and the workplace's established procedures
- Work well on your own and as part of a team
- Help apprentices learn by showing them practical trade techniques and work methods
- Take on line boring work where required
- Adjust to the demands of both workshop and remote-site work
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised Boilermaking trade qualification, or an equivalent overseas qualification
- Proven, practical experience in boilermaking and steel fabrication, with demonstrated welding and metal fabrication skills
- Work history in manufacturing, mining or heavy industrial settings
- Previous line boring experience is highly regarded
- Able to provide evidence that supports your trade qualifications and relevant work experience
- Strong understanding of quality and safety requirements in the workplace
- Able to work Monday to Saturday, with occasional overtime
- Willing to go on remote-site assignments when required
- Able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol screen
- Overseas candidates who hold relevant qualifications and verifiable industry experience are encouraged to apply
