Calling skilled barbers! This full-time role is based in the Singleton, Newcastle, Maitland and Hunter region of New South Wales, with a busy and well-established barbershop that needs an experienced Barber.
The shop wants someone who is proud of their work and can show real industry experience. Precision cuts, modern fades, beard grooming and talking clients through their options will all be part of your day, and your consistent service is what keeps customers returning.
It is a chance to settle into a professional barbershop, sharpen your skills and build a long-term career in Australia. If you have cut hair in the Philippines, the Gulf or elsewhere, that experience counts. Sponsorship may be available for an eligible candidate, subject to Australian visa and sponsorship requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut and groom hair for male clients to a professional standard, keeping quality consistent on every service
- Do fades, skin fades and precision haircut styles with accurate cutting, blending and finishing
- Shape, trim and groom beards
- Talk with clients about what they like and suggest styles that suit them
- Make every client feel welcome and looked after in a professional way
- Earn the trust of regular customers and keep those relationships positive
- Get your barbering tools and equipment ready and keep them in good condition
- Keep your workstation clean, hygienic and organised, following the workplace hygiene and safety practices that apply
- Stay quick and efficient in busy periods without losing attention to detail
- Help create a positive, professional team environment
- Keep up with the latest men's grooming styles and barbering techniques
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven professional experience working as a Barber, with clear ability in men's haircutting and styling
- Strong fade, skin fade and blending skills
- Experience giving beard trimming and grooming services
- A relevant barbering qualification and/or demonstrated industry experience, plus evidence of your previous barbering employment or experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients
- A customer-focused, professional manner
- Reliable and punctual, with commitment to high-quality work
- Able to work on your own and as part of a team
- Professional personal presentation and willingness to commit to a full-time position
- Suitable candidates who satisfy the required experience and qualifications, as well as applicable Australian visa and sponsorship criteria, may be considered for employer sponsorship
