Ready to run a bar, not just work behind one? This senior hospitality role in North Sydney is for an experienced bar professional who wants their management skills to make a real difference.
Great beverage operations need more than good service. They also need leadership, organisation, cost awareness and steady operational standards, and that is exactly what this position asks of you. You will own the bar function, guide the team and help develop a quality beverage program.
Your past experience, your leadership record and how well you handle day-to-day bar operations will be the main things looked at when your application is assessed. If you have managed bars in hotels or resorts in the Philippines, the Middle East or elsewhere, this one is worth a look.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the bar team, coaching staff and preparing their rosters
- Own the day-to-day running of the bar
- Keep cocktails, wine and spirits at a consistently high quality
- Handle beverage purchasing and stock, keeping ordering and inventory systems efficient
- Track how beverages are used and how costs are performing
- Write and update operational procedures and checklists
- Find ways to make bar workflows and service processes better
- Uphold responsible alcohol service standards and meet liquor licence requirements
- Help develop the beverage menu and keep improving it
- Work hand in hand with the wider venue team
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least three years of relevant senior bartending or bar management experience
- Demonstrated experience being responsible for bar operations
- Solid hands-on knowledge of cocktails, wine and spirits
- Previous experience handling beverage stock and ordering, plus an understanding of beverage costing and inventory control
- Proven experience leading and training a team
- Strong communication and organisation skills, with high attention to detail and operational accuracy
- A current NSW RSA competency card
- Available to work evening and weekend shifts
- Valid Australian work rights, or eligibility for employer sponsorship
- Able to provide evidence of your relevant employment experience and professional background
- Must meet the applicable requirements for employer-sponsored employment in Australia
