Key Responsibilities
- Inspect each vehicle, work out what maintenance it needs, then diagnose and fix general mechanical faults
- Handle routine vehicle services and scheduled maintenance
- Check, repair and replace brakes as needed
- Fix and upgrade suspension systems
- Use the right tools and diagnostic equipment with confidence
- Finish every repair with quality workmanship while keeping your work practices accurate and professional
- Stick to the workshop's safety rules and operating procedures
- Explain vehicle problems and the repairs needed to customers in clear, simple terms
- Work productively on your own and together with the rest of the workshop crew
Requirements & Eligibility
- A minimum of 2 years working as a motor mechanic in a relevant role
- Automotive work history you can demonstrate and that can be verified, plus willingness to share supporting evidence of your qualifications and experience
- A relevant automotive trade qualification is preferred
- Solid practical skills in mechanical repairs and servicing
- A valid driver's licence
- Professional communication with customers, along with a reliable, punctual and motivated attitude to work
- Careful attention to detail and a real commitment to quality
- Able to work on your own or as part of a team
