Calling cooks and chefs who take pride in every plate: a tourist park in Port Hedland, Western Australia, has an opening in its kitchen. Business there is growing, and the team would love to welcome somebody experienced, dependable and hardworking, with a genuine passion for quality food.
It is a full-time post of 5 or 6 days per week, depending on what you and the employer agree. Unlike FIFO work, this one is residential, so think of it as joining a community and not just a roster. Kabayan with a background in hotel or cruise galleys will find the duties familiar. Sponsorship opportunities may be available for the right candidate, and a pre-employment medical with a drug and alcohol test is part of hiring.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes with care so each meal meets a high standard
- Keep food quality, serving sizes and presentation consistent
- Practise proper food safety and hygiene, and complete cleaning tasks
- Assist the team in ordering supplies, controlling stock and rotating it
- Look after the kitchen so it stays organised, safe and clean
- Avoid unnecessary food waste and help kitchen operations stay efficient
- Be a helpful teammate in a busy kitchen, joining in food prep and service as needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience from earlier jobs as a cook or chef
- Good understanding of food safety and of kitchen operations
- The ability to cook high-quality meals consistently
- Reliable, and comfortable working under pressure
- Good communication and teamwork skills, plus a positive attitude
- A strong work ethic and willingness to live and work locally
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery preferred, or relevant experience that may be considered instead of formal qualifications; Food Safety Certificate preferred as well
- Pre-employment medical with a drug and alcohol test included
